Fees

Psychological Therapy Appointment

The cost for a 50 minute psychological therapy appointment is $240.

There is a Medicare Rebate of $137.05 for a Clinical Psychologist (out of pocket is $102.95 under a Mental Health Treatment Plan), for up to 10 appointments in a calendar year with an eligible referral.

Please note that the current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee is $300 per hour. Fees at my practice are considerably less than this, to assist clients in accessing psychological services.

Autism & Cognitive Assessments

Prices for autism and cognitive assessment packages are listed on the ‘assessments’ page on my website. Please contact me if you have further questions about assessment inclusions and pricing.

Supervision Appointment

Professional supervision appointments (including all Psychology training pathways) are $198 per hour including GST.

Referrals

An appointment can be made with or without a referral. However, if you wish to claim Medicare rebates then you will need a referral (see below for further information). Private clients do not need a referral and pay the full fee out of pocket.

Medicare Rebates

To be eligible to receive psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by their GP (or in some cases by another medical specialist). Please talk to your GP about your eligibility to claim these Medicare benefits.

For information about how to obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan for psychological therapy, please see www.healthdirect.gov.au/mental-health-treatment-plan

Private Health Funds

Some private health funds offer rebates for psychological therapy and counselling sessions. Please check your coverage and eligibility with your private health fund to confirm whether you are able to receive rebates for your psychological service.

Unfortunately I am unable to let you know how much your private health will be able to cover, and I am unable to process private health rebates for you. However, you can follow-up with your insurer and submit claims yourself.

Please note you are unable to claim both a Medicare rebate and a rebate from your private health fund simultaneously.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

I see clients with self-managed NDIS funding. Clients pay the fee for each appointment and apply for reimbursement themselves through the NDIA.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows enough time to offer the appointment slot to another client.

50% of the appointment fee will apply for less than 48 hours notice. The full appointment fee will apply for less than 24 hours notice or if you do not show up your appointment.

I understand that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment due to sudden illness or a personal emergency. Please phone or email at any time to discuss your situation (if we are unavailable or it is outside of hours, please leave a voicemail message or send an email).

Secure Storage of Payment Information

Clients are required to provide debit/credit card details that are securely stored in my practice management software. Payment will be processed at the time of each appointment. Cancellation fees will also be processed in accordance with the cancellation policy above.
